SKILLS AND TOOLS

Metadata/Cataloging
I have working knowledge of MARC, AACR2/RDA, LCSH, and LCCN. I’ve also worked with the following metadata standards/vocabularies: CDWA; CCO; DCRM(B); Dewey; Getty AAT; Getty ULAN; RBMS Thesauri; VRA Core 4.0; Zinecore.

Collections/Content Management
I have extensive experience using Argus and TMS in museum contexts, having drafted user tutorials for colleagues. I’ve used OCLC Connexion for cataloging. I used Small Library Organizer Pro for cataloging and managing a smaller collection. I have taught students how to use Tropy and JSTOR Forum for managing visual resources and metadata. I formerly used GOBI for collection development.

Circulation/Workflow Management
I currently use Evergreen for circulation. In the past I used SirsiDynix WorkFlows and Voyager to both process and circulate materials. I have a basic working knowledge of Aeon and Ares for special collections-related projects.

Project Management
I typically use Basecamp, Slack, or Trello to organize and manage large scale collaborative projects. I use Google Drive regularly for file storage/sharing. I have taught students and faculty how to use Mendeley and Zotero for citation management.

Assessment
I primarily use Google Forms and Qualtrics. I have used LibInsight and Gimlet for collecting instruction/reference data, and OCLC GreenGlass for collections data. I’ve also used Tableau for collections assessment-related data visualizations.

Teaching/Learning Tools
I currently use Schoology to assist museum docents. Other learning management systems I’ve used are Canvas and Blackboard. I have extensive experience creating course-specific and topical LibGuides. I have also used the following digital humanities tools to curate information: Omeka; Timeline JS; Gephi.

Pedagogy/Literacy
The following standards inform my pedagogy: ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education; ACRL Visual Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education; ARLIS/NA Information Competencies for Students in Design Disciplines. My teaching philosophy is heavily influenced by feminist pedagogy.

Web Editing
I have extensive experience working with WordPress, Squarespace, and Drupal.

Languages
I have basic speaking ability and proficient reading knowledge of Spanish, basic reading knowledge of French and German, and basic speaking ability of Hokkien.
